Okay, so I thought this was going to be a once-per-week paid newsletter.
But two things:
I was surprised by the number of people who signed up for the free newsletter
I stumbled across some insane news in the podcasting world (and I had to write about it)
The world is officially getting wild.
Joe Rogan and Steve Jobs are talking to each other.
The odd part about it is… Steve Jobs is obviously dead. He has been for over 11 years.
But thanks to AI, the world’s biggest podcaster and the creator of Apple can now have a conversation.
You can listen to the 20-minute episode here (via podcast.ai).
This raises all sorts of interesting questions for podcasters, content creators, and people in general.
How soon will you be able to hear any two people talk (who haven’t actually spoken)? We know it’s a fake conversation now, but how often will people get tricked into thinking it’s real in the future? How will people utilize this software to have conversations with people who are not famous but dead? Is this even legal?
Here are some suggested conversations from podcast.ai’s community. The top episode for them to create is a conversation between Buddha and Einstein:
You can see how this is going to get crazy, quickly.
What should you do about it?
Record a conversation with as many loved ones and friends as you can. You’ll thank your present-day self for it. But you’ll also thank yourself in the future (especially in the event you’re not with them). Because it seems like we might be able to create new conversations based on old audio (thanks to AI).
Which will be absolutely wild.
BTW, I published a new episode today with my friend Zach Pogrob (not AI-generated). You can watch it here or listen to it here. He’s the most recurring guest on the podcast (four times!) because he’s a great friend and special human. I’ve been living with him for the past two weeks in Austin, TX. We’ve been building, growing, and learning together. If you have the chance to live with a friend who is like-minded and has similar goals… do it. And we’re both creating like wildfire. In this conversation, we spoke about finding your obsession, design, and how my Instagram has taken off in the past week since we’ve been here.
Check out the awesome thumbnail Zach made for the episode:
